Erykah Badu - Window Seat (New Amerykah, Part II: Return of the Ankh)

La reine de la new soul made in USA c'est bien elle. Erykah Badu est enfin de retour pour la suite de New Amerykah. Des mois qu'on l'attend impatiemment et ça y est l'annonce est tombée. New Amerykah Part II: Return Of The Ankh sortira (maybe) le 30 mars 2010.

Bon la vérité c'est qu'il y a 2 semaines, la belle a posté sur son site officiel erykahbadu.com son nouveau clip disons original, Jump In The Air and Stay There featuring Lil' Wayne (???) et Bilal. On est ravi c'est clair surtout quand c'est elle qui l'annonce sur son twitter. Okay c'est Erykah Badu. Okay ça ne peux qu'être excellent. Sauf qu'on est pas vraiment emballé... effet Lil' Wayne sans doute. Avant la sortie de l'album, il devrait y avoir une dizaine de versions du morceau avec différents featuring exclu web. Et vous, que pensez-vous de ce premier teaser ?

Mais le weekend dernier, Erykah a partagé sur twitter le 1er official single Window Seat (ici et là).

Le nouvel album

Return Of The Ankh attendu donc pour le 30 Mars chez Motown Records est la seconde partie du triptyque New Amerykah lancée en 2008. Après The 4th World War qui était engagé et tourné vers la société, Erykah Badu revient à elle, à ce qu'elle ressent. Un peu comme pour son premier album, Baduizm.

"I called it 'Part II: Return of the Ankh' because this album is the sister of the left side of my brain - it is the right side. Part I was the left side of my thoughts - it was more socially political and my thought process was more analytical. This time there wasn't anything to be concerned with - the album is more emotional and flowy and talks about feelings. It reminds of the days of 'Baduizm' - this is just about beats and rhymes in a cipher."

Je ne m'attendais pas à autant de surprise pour 2010. Cet album s'annonce être une bombe monstrueuse pour le monde de la Nu Soul.
